The objectives of this research are to assess the socio-economic impacts of these initiatives on the local community and evaluate their contributions to sustainable development. The research utilized a mixed-methods approach, collecting both qualitative and quantitative data from 150 households in the village through surveys and interviews. The findings indicate that ecotourism initiatives have generated a 30% increase in local income, attracting over 1,000 visitors annually and creating approximately 50 jobs. The ecoprint development activities have empowered 40 local artisans, resulting in a 25% increase in their income and the production of over 2,000 ecoprint items in the past year. Moreover, the implementation of appropriate waste management practices has led to a 40% reduction in local waste pollution, with 75% of households participating in waste segregation and recycling programs. Malaria eradication efforts have also shown significant results, with reported malaria cases decreasing by 60% over the last two years due to community engagement in health education and the distribution of insecticide-treated nets. This comprehensive approach to community empowerment not only enhances economic independence but also promotes environmental sustainability and public health. The success of these initiatives demonstrates the potential for rural communities in Indonesia to achieve sustainable development through participatory strategies that address both economic and health-related challenges.
Mohammad Basyuni Alfian Mubaraq Mubaraq Bejo Slamet Slamet Ahmad Baiquni Rangkuti Erni Jumilawaty Jumilawaty Deni Elfiati Elfiati Iwan Risnasari Risnasari Andi Aznan Aznawi Itchika Sivaipram Sivaipram Meutia Nauly Nauly Ameilia Zuliyanti Siregar Nurfida Khairina Arrasyid Kiking Ritarwan Ritarwan Arida Susilowati Susilowati Delvian Delvian Etti Sartina Siregar Diana Sofia Hanafiah Copyright (c) 2025 Mohammad Basyuni, Alfian Mubaraq, Bejo Slamet, Ahmad Baiquni Rangkuti, Erni Jumilawaty, Deni Elfiati, Iwan Risnasari, Andi Aznan Aznawi, Itchika Sivaipram, Meutia Nauly, Ameilia Zuliyanti Siregar, Nurfida Khairina Arrasyid, Kiking Ritarwan, Arida Susilowati, Delvian Delvian, Etti Sartina Siregar, Diana Sofia Hanafiah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-02-13 2025-02-13 5 1 17 25 10.57152/consen.v5i1.1738 Processing of Livestock Waste into Manure in Mandiro Village, Bondowoso Regency Towards a Healthy Village https://journal.irpi.or.id/index.php/consen/article/view/1637
Kotoran ternak mempengaruhi kesehatan manusia, kesehatan lingkungan, dan kesehatan ternak itu sendiri karena produksi gas beracun hasil pembakaran, kontaminasi tanah, dan pencemaran air. One of the main challenges they face is product marketing on social media, particularly in presenting appealing and appetizing food photos. In a previous community service program (PKM), UMKM Fellow Pages received photography training but continued to struggle with lighting and food styling techniques. Therefore, the author extended the training with a specific focus on food photography lighting, aiming to help SMEs produce more attractive and effective product photos for social media. Food has evolved into a form of visual art on social media, where appealing food photos can enhance desirability and appeal. Food photography has a long history, beginning with daguerreotype techniques in the 19th century and evolving into the use of food images in cookbooks and magazines in the 20th century. Today, food photography is a highly effective marketing tool in the digital age. Research indicates that visually appealing images can stimulate consumer desire to purchase. The UMKM Fellow Pages community aims to improve members' skills in lighting techniques through training on the use of lighting modifiers. This service in the form of socialization is carried out to provide teachers in Indonesia with an understanding of the implementation of Deep Learning in the digital era. The socialization was conducted online with approximately 800 participants, most teachers from various regions across Indonesia. The steps of the method used in this socialization include planning, the delivery of material, sharing during the Q&A session, and reflection. This socialization helps teachers to get to know and understand Deep Learning. It can be implemented in the classroom, leading to positive changes in the learning process, which improves students’ learning outcomes to achieve the eight graduate profiles. Framed around the theme of Tenganan as The Living Culture Destination, the project was implemented in three phases: documentation, content development, and community training. In the first phase, local youth were involved in capturing high-quality photo and video content during the traditional Perang Pisang event. In the second phase, the materials were edited into Instagram-optimized formats using a custom visual identity that reflects the village’s values—Asli (Authentic), Sakral (Sacred), Teguh Tradisi (Tradition-bound), Edukatif (Educational), and Elegan (Elegant). The third phase focused on training participants in managing Instagram, creating content calendars, and applying preset filters through the Lightroom mobile app. The outcome includes the rebranding of the village’s Instagram account to @tengananexperience and the development of a content strategy based on the pillars: Be Promotional, Be Human, and Be Entertaining. To create a bright future for Indonesia in the next 20 years, we must cultivate an outstanding young generation today by raising awareness of the importance of literacy and a reading culture among the youth. Literacy is not merely the technical ability to read and write, but goes beyond that—it includes the ability to understand, interpret, evaluate, and use information in order to participate actively in society. Once this awareness and mindset are formed, it is hoped that Indonesia's young generation will develop more productive habits by reading more books, thereby broadening their horizons, fostering a love for knowledge, cultivating curiosity, and developing critical thinking skills. This will help them become independent learners capable of responding to the increasingly complex challenges of the times. This community service activity employed a participatory action research method and was conducted with students of Madrasah Tsanawiyyah As-Syifa in West Bandung Regency. The activity took place on May 15, 2025. The students’ pre-test results showed an average score of 66.27. This finding indicates that the students had not yet fully understood the meaning of literacy or the importance of literacy and a reading culture. After being provided with education on the importance of literacy and reading habits, a post-test was administered. The results showed an increased average score of 83.09 and a calculated N-gain of 0.51, which falls into the medium category.
