The Rumah Nyambu communal building in Nyambu Village, Tabanan Regency, managed by the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), faced several technical problems, including inadequate building conditions, disorganized supporting infrastructure, corroded steel joints in the bamboo structure, and a thermally uncomfortable dome space due to suboptimal air circulation. This community service activity aimed to assist Pokdarwis in preparing the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for the renovation of Rumah Nyambu using precast concrete and bamboo structures. The implementation methods included Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the partner, existing-condition surveys, design consultations, and the preparation of DED documents and a cost estimate (RAB). The renovation design utilized 10 precast concrete columns measuring 40/40 cm, an 18 m² mezzanine with bamboo decking as a passive strategy for cross-ventilation, and a dome cover made of bamboo and UV-protective plastic sheeting supported by a new steel frame. The total planned renovation budget was IDR 316,978,852.64. The outputs comprised DED documents, including working drawings, technical specifications, three-dimensional visualizations, and a cost estimate submitted to the partner as a reference for renovation implementation. This design indicates that combining precast concrete and bamboo is potentially efficient and contextual for communal buildings in tropical tourism villages.Downloads
