The Parakan Jaya Orchid Farmer Group in Pondok Benda Village, Pamulang Subdistrict, South Tangerang City manages an orchid garden of approximately 513 m² that previously relied on manual watering, purchased planting media, and handwritten records, resulting in plant losses of 15–20% per season and a planting-media cost of IDR 1,500,000–2,000,000 every two months. This community service activity implemented an automatic watering system based on an Arduino microcontroller and an ESP8266 module with temperature, soil-moisture, and rain sensors, along with an organic waste shredder with a capacity of 20 kg/hour to self-produce planting media. The method consisted of socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability carried out participatively. Field measurements show that water-use efficiency increased by approximately 30% and watering time decreased by approximately 40% compared with manual watering, while more than 80% of group members were able to independently operate and maintain the technology based on a post-training competency assessment. Based on an economic estimate, combining both technologies has the potential to increase annual net profit by about 2.5 times compared with the conventional pattern. This activity supports SDG 8, 11, 12, and 13 through indicators of resource efficiency, waste reduction, and strengthened economic capacity of the farmer group.Downloads
